I had a cool idea- what if I share (almost) everything I read, and some code, with my audience as a way to teach & spread knowledge in a very practical & dynamic way as the field evolves rapidly
👋 Hi, my name is Dr. Justin Hodges (my background here).
After self-publishing a book on AI/ML for engineering simulation, which is beginner-focused, I wondered how to keep disseminating information and helping teach/fill the knowledge gap on AI/ML for mechanical and aerospace engineers looking for domain-specific resources. With specific focus on engineering simulation and high-performance computing (CFD, FEA, …), I strive to make it less overwhelming for people to keep up with the innovations in AI; both in terms of succinctly filtering-down the many happenings to those most significant and also by trying my best to make complicated concepts super clear to understand.
If you subscribe to my Substack for $5, this is what you can expect in a typical month:
I will share PDFs files here for all publications I read, as I read them
I will share code I write (demonstrations)
I will make write-ups on important concepts (both new and fundamental concepts)
Nice discussion and conversation with community (hopefully!)
With a few posts per month planned, this should keep you ‘busy enough’ without being overwhelming. It will take some time for me to curate this experience, so I hope the fee isn’t formidable at close to the cost of a drink from Starbucks.
Let’s go!
Just subscribed. Looking forward to reading some great content, Dr. Hodges!
A little bit about me: I'm a nuclear engineer pursuing a second master’s degree in computer science. Hoping to do research on computational methods and applications of SciML in solving nuclear engineering problems.
That's definitely a cool idea Justin! There are so many engineers/researchers out there who talk and discuss about LLMs, and models in general but not specifically towards its application in Science/Engineering. This is a super needed initiative to bridge the gap!
